Wild and Crazy weekend with the girls ;)

Last weekend, while my girls were still with Papa and NeeNee, I drove up to Charlotte to meet up with two of my very favorite people...my dear friends from high school, Courtney and Krystle! I was so excited for this weekend, we always have such a great time together and although this weekend turned out to be a little different than the past, it was still so much fun. Let me explain....Friday night we went out for a very yummy dinner and some drinks, actually it was just Krystle and me doing the wine drinking, Courtney is 4 months pregnant so she just enjoyed the dinner:) Then Saturday we woke up and went to a really cool 55,000 sq. foot antique mall just down the street from Krystle's house....Krystle had been talking about how she wanted to re-do her bedroom, buy new furniture and bedding...so we were on the hunt. As we were walking around, she saw this really great fabric covered headboard and said that was what she wanted...well, thanks to Russell's parents, I knew exactly how to make one (we made one for our master bedroom)!! Krystle already had a headboard, so all we needed was some fabric. One of the booths at the antique mall had a ton of fabric, all 50% off! She found some she liked and it was only $4 a yard!!! (Which, if you ever buy fabric, you know that is a STEAL!) So anyway, we got the fabric, got some lunch and headed home. Before we got to work, Krystle's very sweet boyfriend, Joe, volunteered to take us out on his boat for a day on the Lake. It was so wonderful, the weather was perfect, his boat was very nice and we even got to do some tubing, which I had not done in a very long time! It was so much fun:) Thanks, Joe! This was the only picture we took of the whole weekend....and Joe took it with his phone...Courtney and me having a little girl talk on the boat...

Once we got home from the lake, we got real crazy and....painted Krystle's bedroom furniture! I called Russell and told him what we were doing and he said..."uhh, so this is what y'all do for fun now?" Yes, it is, you got a problem with that? ;) For the headboard, we got some batting, covered the headboard, then covered the batting and headbord with the fabric and starting stapling....it took A LOT of staples, but the end result was beautiful!!!

This is the before shot of her headboard...

And here is the after!!

with a close-up shot of the fabric...it is so pretty and neutral with a beautiful texture.

And here is the before shot of her dresser...which she wanted to get rid of!! But after some convincing from Courtney and me, she agreed to let us paint it....

And here is the after (with some really cool mirrors we picked up at Home Goods). Isn't it soooo pretty?! It's got a very cool, shabby chic, beachy vibe which is exactly what Krystle wanted!! We all love the way it turned out. We painted it white then glazed it with an antiquing glaze.

So there you have, a look into our wild and crazy girls weekend:) Good times with friends, lots of laughs, yummy food, fun on the lake, and a new bedroom for Krystle for less than $100.....it doesn't get much better than that:) Thanks girls for a fabulous weekend! Can't wait til next year!!
