Thanksgiving Day fun!

We had a pretty low key thanksgiving around here...but it was wonderful! Papa and NeeNee drove down to spend a couple days with us and, like always, we all had lots of fun together:) Mom and I went shopping Wednesday, we played games Wednesday night after the girls went to bed...but the real fun started on Thursday!

That morning, Mom and I started getting the meal ready! Of course, my little helpers were right there to ready to get their hands dirty...they were pros at crumbling the cornbread for the stuffing! As you can see, Allie is working very hard! Making sure the whole bowl is all filled up!
All done! Now it's time to go outside and PLAY!

Some of our very sweet neighbors, the Vandervoorts, found out that Marissa got a bike for her birthday, so Mrs. Martha offered her very long and straight driveway to us anytime we wanted to use it! And we have definitely taken her up on that offer! It's the perfect driveway to learn how to ride your bike:)

In case you can't tell....Marissa is a big fan of riding her bike!!! She loves it!

Marissa took a little break and I asked her what she was doing...to my surprise, she had packed a little tupperware full of M&M's and put it in her Princess bag. Haha! I guess all that bike riding can make a girl hungry!

However, she couldn't get the lid off, so Papa came to her rescue...she was very grateful:) This is such a sweet picture!

Sisterly Love part 8....Story time!

I walked into Allie's room one day to this sweet sight. They sat in here for about 30 minutes while big sister read Elmo to little sister:)
They took a break to smile for mommy!

So sweet. Seriously, this makes my heart smile. These two really are becoming the best of friends.

I can hear Marissa right now saying "turn around, Allie...that's not how you read!" Allie has a style all her own:)

I love how Allie is pointing to the page in this picture, she would say, "tee-too, what's dat?" and Marissa would help her figure out what she was pointing to:)

Class of 2000!

Ok.....so I am ridiculously behind on my blogging. I don't know what happened to the last month, I feel like it never happened. Time is flying by and to be honest, I would really like it to slow down a little bit (my baby girl turned 2 this past friday?!!? seriously? how is that possible? more on that in another post.)
Back in November, I had my 10 year high school reunion! On our way back up to Virginia, we made a pit stop for a couple of nights at Papa and NeeNee's house! The girls, of course, had a wonderful time!

Mom and I came home after a day of shopping to Papa, Russell and the girls sitting outside by the fire. Allie was sitting in Papa's lap...Allie looooooves Papa (and neenee!!):) I love this picture of the 3 of them...if you look close you can see Allie smiling through her thumb:)

The reunion was Saturday night, but that morning they had a little family get together for those of us with kids so we could see everyone and meet their families. It was a small crowd, but it was great to see everyone that was there!

One family I was very excited to see and meet was The Dowdy's . Emily and I graduated together and we have been keeping up with each other the past year or so through our blogs and it has been wonderful! I have a feeling that if we lived near each other, we would spend a lot of time together:) She has 2 kids, right around the same age as mine and they had lots of fun playing together that morning!
Allie and Charley loved this car...they were kind enough to share so neither one of us mommies had to deal with a crying baby:)

The whole gang on Saturday morning! See the girl at the bottom right in the green shirt? That's Kayley and her mom is Carrie. Carrie and I were friends in high school and Kayley and Marissa became fast friends that morning....(keep reading, you'll see what I mean)

Ok, remember Kayley? Well, we were outside saying our good-byes and Kayley takes off her pretty necklace and gives it to Marissa and says, "this is for you to keep!" Oh, it was so sweet:) Marissa absolutely loved it and wore it the rest of the weekend, and still plays with it to this day! In return, Marissa was sweet enough to give Kayley some of her Tinkerbell silly bands. It was so sweet to see these two new friends together:) Too bad we don't live closer...they would have a blast together!

So...after the breakfast, my mom took the girls back to North Carolina, so Russell and I could spend the day together and go to the reunion that night. We had a wonderful day alone....getting a nice, quiet lunch, walking around downtown Roanoke and just being together. We love our girls dearly, but sometimes...it's so nice to just be the two of us again. Later that night, we got all dressed up and off we went!
