11.11.11

In honor of today's date...11 things about our (new) life as a family of 5.

1. McCoy is changing everyday and while I am very ready to sleep through the night again, those middle of the night feedings where everything is quiet and it's just him and me are oh so sweet. I know time will fly and they will be over before I know it....so I'm trying to cherish him and our precious time together :)

2. Seeing Russell hold his son makes me smile every.single.time. He is such a proud daddy. I have a feeling those two are gonna be best buds.

3. Marissa and Allie have had a ridiculous amount of energy lately...there is a lot of running and screaming that goes on in our house these days. It's a good thing McCoy can sleep through just about anything.

4. Having my third child has made me realize just how easy it was with just one child. Yes, I know everything is new and different...but still, so much easier. (I suppose it helps that Marissa was pretty much the easiest baby ever :) )

5. McCoy makes so many sweet newborn noises...the squeaks and coos. The girls love it when he coos, they always say, "McCoy's talking Mommy!"

6. These days, getting myself and everyone else dressed and fed is a huge accomplishment. And a shower for me...well--those days are monumental.

7. Last night I left McCoy with Russell for a little while...and as I was walking out the door Russell informed me that he and McCoy would be "throwing the football together" while I was gone :) Pretty sure that didn't happen...but I am sure that Russell is counting down the days until it will.

8. Allie still refers to McCoy as "baby McCoy". It is very sweet and I secretly hope she always calls him that.

9. McCoy, like his sisters, loves, loves, loves his swing. Which is good because while I would love to sit and hold him all day...Marissa and Allie need a mommy too, so in the swing he goes...

10. I have never needed my mom more than I need her now! I'm so incredibly grateful that she now lives less than five minutes away. Isn't it funny how it has taken me becoming a mom to truly appreciate my own mom and just how wonderful she is. There is no way I could do this without her.

11. I should have been napping instead of writing this blog...but there is so much about our lives right now that I want to remember and I'm afraid my brain isn't going to...so instead of sleep, I will blog. Sleep will come......eventually. :)
